These are the two locations which I have suggested where we should shoot our opening film. They are local to us which is beneficial to all of us and they have good playground settings which is what we need.


- What we need to have in this location:

Big trees- to represent horror and give off a frightening image
Playground swings- This could threat childhood innocents which will make the viewer seem uncomfortable. I think this would be an important feature to use in a horror film because you wouldn’t expect a horror opening to start in a children’s play area.
Playground round-about- This again also represents child features.



Test Shoot

Overall I think the test shoot turned out really well. We shot most of the scenes that needed to be recored to see if they were possible to do and to see if it ran smoothly.

However there were a few shoots that we couldn't record due to not having the right equipment : Shot 6 of the leaf rolling along the floor. We needed to have a fan to achieve this.

We decided we would use summit entertainment as our distribution company for many reasons.
Apart from producing some of our favourite films (the perks of being a wallflower and the impossible) we decided summit would be the best company to pick as it has distributed one of the most successful teen vampire film yet: The Twilight Saga.

Kaya Scodelario:
The ideal actress we would cast as our main role; Adrianna is kaya scodelario. We picked this actress as we believed her features where suitable for adrianna. The way kaya looks plays a big part behind our reasoning for picking her. We would want our actress to represent a vampire and with a little costume and make up she would fit in perfectly with the vampire genre.
Scodelario made her film debut in the science fiction-thriller film moon, Kaya would also be our suitable actress of choice because she starred in the teen drama series, skins on E4. As our target audience is teenagers we wanted the main actress to be known amongst young people and therefore this would attract our target audience. We also believe kaya has big influence amoungst young people particularly upon young girls like the one we created in our character profile.

Advantages: Right age group, has good experience, competes the look we are going for (pale skin, long hair ect)

Advantages: Fits the look we are going for, high level on acting experience, available to film in given dates.

Title Design

When i first started title design i originally wanted Seizures written in a curly tree-like font. However, when it came down to it i found it wasn't very practical. For Seizures i wanted to use a different sort of front. I didn't want something that was just from imovie or word but something that would stand out. To do this i went onto a website called 'dafont' (http://www.dafont.com/). 
Once on 'dafont' you can search the type of font you want to use in the top right hand corner. I searched a couple of words like 'trees' and 'forest' but nothing really came up. I found a couple that i liked but when trying them out i realised it wouldn't really stand out enough for a main title for our film. In the end i found a font called 'A Series Of Unfortunate Events'. When i tried it with the word Seizures i found that it not only looked creepy but it also stood out a lot. I then tried it out in the colours we wanted for the title (black and red). However, i felt having the  title in red after all of our credits are in red it didn't stand out as much. I then tried white and found it worked better. After discussing this with my group we decided this was the one to use. 

When adding it into our opening i used the software Keynote to create an animation to go with it. Keynote was very useful as they have a variety to choose from and you can also change the speed of your animation. For Seizures i wanted something simple but not just a fade. In the end i chose a 'zoom' as it was quite simple, so it went well the the scream, but also i felt the growing of the title make it stick out to the audience.
